“Ty” is a teenage black girl who works at one of the fast food restaurant I study at. I met Ty after one of her shifts a year or so ago.  She never really had time to speak with me for real and our interaction has always brief but pleasant.  A couple days ago her ride hadn’t shown yet and we were caught in an awkward pause kinda moment…cause I’m all old and she’s not.  So, I gave her a scenario followed by the question “Where would you go if you died right now.” We got into a serious conversation about what she believed and where those beliefs came from. She was interested to find out that some of her belief system was pagan in origin. Her mother showed and she left quickly, but asked me for my email address because she was very interested in what we had talked about. Two weeks later.  Today I went in just before Ty’s shift ended, we picked up where we left off and she felt the need to go to God for forgiveness and salvation thru Jesus Christ. We prayed and she felt the Spirit of God. Amen?  She said, “My mother has been trying to talk to me like you do for a while now.”  My response to her, “Well she is going to be happy today isn’t she?”  Pray that this young girl becomes a dynamic force in God’s plan for establishing His Kingdom.
