March 2021

The Universal Peddler is an older man, maybe in his late 60s/early 70’s, who speaks to me frequently at the gym.  We share mostly opposing views of Christianity all the time. One day he tried to give me a pamphlet on ritual prayers from his church. The Bible says not to use vain repetition when praying, as the heathen do. I asked the Holy Spirit if I should take the pamphlet, just to be nice to The Universal Peddler. The Spirit immediately told me “No” and I understood there was an entity behind/attached to Peddler’s charity. I told him “No.”  He (or the motivating spirit) then tried to guilt me into taking it, because he had to “steal” it for me…from the church! Lol.  When he said that I replied, “Well, you better get your rosary beads and go off to see your priest then.”  I wasn’t about to take something demonically charged back to my family and home.  I was sure he wouldn’t talk to me anymore because of my semi-harsh comment, but I was wrong. He continued to come over and communicate with me over the next couple of days.

Today, Peddler was picking up a 45 lb. barbell to move it off a military press machine and tripped backwards over some other equipment to the floor; barbell landing on his left knee. I consoled him, then helped him up and over to a bench. He was in pain, rubbing his leg. He was concerned that later he was going to be in tremendous pain. I made sure he was okay and went on my way to continue my work out. I then noticed him struggling to another machine and Jesus told me to “Pray for his leg.” Look, I’m not a perfect man but I’m honest. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have prayed for this man, so I asked Jesus if I could pray for him from where I was and not personally engage. The answer was “No,” so I went over and asked him if I could pray for his knee. He was surprised at my offer as if the concept were foreign to him. He asked, “Do you think it would help?” I didn’t respond, I just smiled and shrugged my shoulders like I didn’t know.  He said, “Well [as he thought].  Okay.”

I got down on one knee, placed my right hand on his left knee and prayed.  I prayed for the healing of damaged tissue (nothing was broken). I felt something going on in my hand but didn’t dare ask him if he felt anything. When I was finished, we shared “thank-yous” and I went on my way. 10 minutes later, The Universal Peddler walked-up to me bouncing. I removed my earphones to him telling me that there was no pain [0%] in his leg…at all, as he was bouncing up and down on it. He continued to complain saying “…but, my body is shaking. I don’t understand that.”  I understood it.  The Holy Spirit was still working in his body. Peddler was feeling the residual power of the HS flowing through his body and didn’t even know what it was. I didn’t say anything, I just smiled.

As I was packing up to leave the gym, I looked over and witnessed a 60–70-year-old Universal Peddler giving a stationary bicycle a fit. Wow! Lol. Jesus wanted to heal Peddler today regardless of my feelings about his Christian World View. How merciful is our God?  I repented and thanked Him for always doing the right thing despite me.  Amen?

March 2021

It’s been a couple days since I’ve seen The Universal Peddler. Today I walked into the gym and we spoke from afar. I noticed him pointing at me while speaking with another older lady who frequents the gym also. He looked fine; no limping or anything. Later, I got curious and walked over to where he was. I passed by him on a stationary bike, stopped and asked him, “How’s your leg.” He said with a smile, “It’s great. No pain since you prayed for it. Thank you.” I smiled and walked away. Then I heard him say, “Thank you Jesus” to which I turned around, smiled back, nodded and agreed.
