I met a man we will refer to as “The Illuminated Warrior.” Warrior believes in the Gnostic writings, considers himself to be “awake,” and has personal relationships with beings known as (or demons posing as) Zeus, Inanna, Marduk, and others. I asked him, “How many are with you now, because I got One (Jesus) with me?” He answered with a smile, “Aren’t they all always with us?”
Warrior explains himself to be a god who has lived forever (reincarnation). He describes his life as a “purging” he has to go through; “trials and tribulations,” so he can give “witness” when he reaches his final destination with whomever he’s supposed to report to (polytheism: ascended masters, the panel of gods, etc.). Ultimately he is to become a part of this ascended panel of gods (the synchronicity, oneness, The Force for you Star Wars fans).
The Illuminated Warrior’s mission is to bring unity to the world and polish Christianity; which he has been told by his gods, is a flawed system of belief. When I argued Biblical points he would counter with the inaccuracy of the Bible because of its flaws. I don’t believe that the Author of the Bible is capable of flaws, only man; so, I challenged “If the Bible has flaws as you say and those flaws make Christianity invalid, wouldn’t the inaccuracies of Gnosticism make your belief system invalid?” When challenged with this and other arguments, he would default to universalism, the fact there had to be good and bad (dualism) and wouldn’t admit there was one perfect being.
Warrior is an incredible artist – which falls into my understanding that these entities give creative abilities (or redirect God’s given abilities) to those who follow them. He believes in a different creator than Christianity, one who is an artist and creates artistically even though this creator is removed from the art itself (an impersonal god); The Great Architect of the Universe as this god is referred to and worshipped by Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, Theosophy, etc. We also agreed on the eschatological inevitability that one day both our families have to clash; but for now, we argued peacefully, intellectually and lovingly…surprisingly.
The meeting was pleasant and ended with a handshake and a hug, but The Illuminated Warrior was sold out to “His family” and had no interest in considering any other; especially, the family of the Lord Jesus Christ.
