“Jewel” is a Christian but her family hadn’t been gathering with other Christians or even praying to the Lord for a couple years.  Four months ago she contacted me to talk because her marriage and family was falling apart.  She wanted to talk so we met in a restaurant.  While she was telling me about what she was experiencing, she used the word “abandoned.”  When she said this word Jesus immediately told me in my spirit to “Pray against that spirit now,” so I interrupted her and asked if I could pray.  As I was praying for her she started coughing intensely and coughed-up the spirit of abandonment.  I don’t think she even understood what happened at that time.  After our prayer, we finished our conversation and left our separate ways.  A couple months later, I began to notice that she was posting pictures of her and her husband on a social networking site; happy and reconciled, having renewed their vows to one another.  She also began going to and serving in a local church.  I was thinking about Jewel this month and gave her a call to ask her what she believed changed everything.  She told me that “Something changed when we prayed at that restaurant.”  And since then, she said she has never felt abandoned or the fear of abandonment again.  Hallelujah for the power of Jesus and His desire to deliver us from the strongholds in our lives.
