She’s twenty-seven years old, lives in a South Africa, accepts Jesus Christ as her savior in 2011, but has been “eating the sin” (pleasing the devil) for the last six years. She tells me, “I’m from a Black African, traditional family,” which means, her people worship the ancestors; this is witchcraft. She is a single mother, emotionally hurt, rejected, feels extreme sadness, feels failure and “stuck” in life. She is drowning in the tradition of ancestral worship and haunted by the familiar spirits of her family’s generations. Her name is “She Mpongo.”
I ask her, “If Jesus were standing in front of you right now, what would you ask Him to do for you?” She answers, “I want to serve Him. I want to be the girl who is doing right. I want to know my purpose on earth.” I thank the Lord God Almighty for His love and protection, ask the Holy Spirit to come in and accomplish what He wants to do for “She” today, and we worship Jesus through a song of her choice. Immediately she’s taken into a vision, we break a grandmother’s territorial curse, lead a human witch spirit to Salvation and Jesus shows her His grave.
It starts during worship, She Mpongo goes to a vision. She sees a place; not clearly, but like a field. “I was given flowers by someone,” She says. “I can see the arm reaching out to me.” Suddenly, something tries to block the One giving her the flowers and “attack[s] my life” She tells me. I ask Jesus if He wants me to take care of this, but She tells me, “He [already] saved me.” She continues, “I’m hearing that I’ve always been under attack, but the Lord is fighting for me. Now I feel His love; His life” while she hears the words, “Mercy,” “Love,” and “Peace of the Lord.” She Mpongo is feeling His love for a while when suddenly she comes under attack and says, “I feel pain….sadness.”
Jesus gives me the “Green light” and I go after the spirit. The spirit’s name is “Simpho.” I ask, “Human or demon?” She responds, “Demon.” Me, “What are you doing in there?” Her, “I hate her.” I throw a spear in her chest and demand, “When did you come in?” Simpho avoids my questioning, “I am her best friend. She thinks I love her.” I insist on legal rights and Simpho avoids again, “I don’t stay with her. I only visit at night.” I set her on fire and Simpho gives up the goods, “Simpho’s grandmother.” Okay, so now there are two Simpho’s: One demon and one human who is a witch. Human Simpho’s grandmother has power in their region and places a territorial demon over She Mpongo. This demon keeps her “stuck” in life, bound to her current situations.
“Can you forgive [Simpho’s grandmother]?” I ask. She tells me “Of course” and I break the territorial Curse of Xhosa, we take the territory back and lay it at the feet of Jesus. Next, something’s in her stomach and Demon Simpho tells me “I make her feel hot in stomach.” She Mpongo adds, “It’s like acid. I feel it moving up.” I ask the Holy Spirit what legal rights Demon Simpho has and She Mpongo sees a place she lives during University. She tells me “I also see [Human Spirit] Simpho’s face.” I separate the two spirits, one from the other and decide to deal with them individually. I bind Demon Simpho, slam her to the floor (if she’s a her, I don’t know) and begin to address Human Spirit Simpho.

Human Spirit Simpho tells me, “You are disturbing me” and some other indiscriminate babble. I tell Human Simpho, “You are a slave to witchcraft,” to which she responds, “I am stubborn.” I ask her, “Do you want freedom?” Human Spirit Simpho responds positively, I give her the Gospel of Jesus and ask, “Do you want to receive Him?” Human Spirit Simpho answers, “Yes!” I ask the Holy Spirit, “What do You say?” and She Mpongo hears the word “Forgiveness.” Wow! This act breaks Demon Simpho and I send the demon to hell. I release Human Spirit Simpho to the feet of Jesus. Mpongo tells me, “My stomach feels empty. He’s gone. I feel light. My mind is back. Like something new.”
I call into She’s house, “Jesus, are you still there?” Not only is He there, but He answers, “I Am the Lamb. I Am The King. I Am the One you’re supposed to worship.” Jesus is referring to the ancestral worship in which She Mpongo participates with her family. “I feel obligated because I live here. I have no place to go” She says. She tells me, “I see ‘New Beginning’ and ‘New Life.’ I am being given a blanket on my shoulders.” She sees “Forgiveness of sins” and hears the word “Anointing.”
She sees the word “Lying” and tells me, “He wants to take me out the lies and live truth.” I ask, “Jesus, you need me or are You taking care of it?” I hear nothing and She is pleading for Him to take her out of the lies. She hears again, “Forgiveness” and “New Life.” She is worshipping Him in the spirit. For me [Troy], things get quiet for a moment until she chimes back in with, “I see an eagle!”
The eagle is standing in a garden, looking directly at her and She tells me, “I feel like the Lord is here. I feel welcomed by Him. He is looking at me, happy,” and says “He’s a friend of mine.” I ask what He looks like and She tells me she only sees a body shape. “He’s chilling, just looking at me” She says. I hear a gasp over the phone and she types “I feel some hot air. He is showing me His grave and the folded linen. He is real wow, Jesus is real Jesus is alive.” I hear another gasp, and She tells me I see “Him holding my feet.” “It’s like I’m dreaming. Ow God.” Yet another gasp, and she writes “I keep on hearing ‘it is done’ but I don’t know what is the meaning.” I tell her “That’s the last thing He said on the Cross.” She replies, “Yes exactly that.”

I ask Jesus, “Have you found Your daughter to be justified in your sight?” She types in response, “I just opened my Bible and it opened to Jeremiah 52 verse 31-34.” I read it really quick and understand “He has restored you and is going to provide for you. You will sit at His table.” This is huge for She. In the beginning of our conversation today, She Mpongo tells me “I have no income. I lost my […] job. I feel like I am drowning.” Suddenly, she sees a snake.
“I hear, ‘You need to be careful’” She tells me, and sees the snake coiling around a stick. I ask Jesus, “You want me to go after this snake?” and He stands me down, saying “There’s no harm.” He’s showing her the threat of her surroundings. I laugh and think to myself, “I’m like Jesus’ Pitbull. I sit by His feet, obediently, until there’s a threat and I want to jump.” She is reminded of visions in her past. “I used to see situations or things while praying in the past” She tells me. I ask Jesus, “Gift or witchcraft?” He says it’s from Him, “Her gifting, but she’s running away.” Then She tells me, “I’m afraid of this gift. It’s like I’m not worth it. I can’t. I don’t understand it.”
I ask Jesus if He can help her to understand and JESUS TYPES BACK TO ME, “The Devil wants to steal it away from her.” I tell her, “These devils try to steal the seeds He’s spread out for you, before they can grow. She writes to me, “I hope I’m not dreaming…Because I don’t want to lose Jesus Christ in my life. I want to be with him all the days of my life.” I then reply, “You said you wanted to know your purpose.”
Jesus says no more work for the day. She’s tired. He leaves, but leaves her a gift. She says, “He left me with His Spirit.” Amen. She says, “I feel like praying in tongues.” I tell her to do it, “Out loud please?” I have a thing about hearing someone pray in tongues. Some are not really doing it, but I know when it being done right. I don’t speak in tongues, it’s not one of my gifts…yet, and I so long to understand. She speaks Afrikaans, English and today, Tongues. I have difficulty understanding her, but there’s no accent while she’s speaking in tongues. I’m spinning around in my barber chair, crying and listening. I’m asking Jesus to please “Let me hear.” I begin turning my fingers around the outside of my hear, as if to find signal on an old am/fm, transistor radio and her voice turns into English; not like normal, but it’s firm and bold speech. Of what I could understand, there were four really quick sentences. The first two were “I Am the One and I will come again.” “I will come and get My people.” I hear Him speak His name and title, “I Am your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” I am in shock and the second two sentences go by so fast I don’t understand them.

I ask She if she switches to English while praying. She responds, “You were in tongues” meaning, she didn’t switch. Then she writes, I was just praying. I didn’t know that you were understanding.” Amen! Jesus is awesome.

She and I have had a hard time talking as South Africa is in a power crisis and power is being distributed in blocks during the day. During the time the power is off, there is no internet and no phone. This process is called Load Shedding, there is a schedule, but the power is still erratic. We do, however, get together today, for a second time and it may be our last. Jesus has been pulling my heart to speak to her during the time between our last phone call. I speak to She today and she tells me, “Things have changed [since our first phone call]. Even my spiritual life. I am able to read and pray [now].” We thank The Creator of all things, worship the Savior who gave His Blood with a song of her choice and thank the Holy Spirit, who comes in today to carry out His will in She’s life. Jesus opens She’s ears and opens her heart. She smells the sweet aroma of His presence and He breaks chains off her legs to free her to be a prophet to her region of South Africa.
I ask She Mpongo to begin praying out loud, but she does not and I understand today is going to be text communication mostly. I don’t know if this is because of Jesus, or her. We begin, Jesus is with us and She tells me, “I feel like my heart is open for Jesus. I can even pray inside my heart [She is praying in the spirit!].” This is a long way from before our last meeting. Before, the evil spirits who run her would block her prayer and Bible reading. They were stymieing her growth in this area of her life.
We move into today’s work. I am amazed at how Jesus interacts with us, even through texting [note the text strings below]. I will give you most of the text string and let you read the interaction. We’re talking verbally also, so I will narrate those points at the end of this entry. All of this happens while I play worship instrumental music in the background.

The first thing Jesus tells me to do is pray for and bless She. I get to bless her child and pray a prayer which I believe enables her ministry. It’s like the words came directly from Jesus and out into She Mpongo’s ear. I can’t remember everything that came out of my mouth, but I remember releasing her into her region, empowering her mouth, placing the Light of Jesus Christ at the center of her being and waking her family up to the truth through her ministry. She responds, “Amen. That’s a prophetic prayer.”
To bring everything together, today Jesus opens her ability to pray in the spirit. She can also, now, hear His voice. I ask Jesus if He wants to give me a message, to “fine-tune” her gift. I want her to see that it’s working. Jesus responds through her, “She must worship Me in truth and spirit. I will always show myself to her” and She feels His presence. She begins crying and asks, “Are you experiencing anything from your side [of the phone call]?” I tell her no and She tells me, “I feel fresh, revived in my spirit. I feel His love. [I smell] His sweet aroma. [I feel] His mercy. I’m happy” and feels like chains are broken from her legs. Those chains were used to keep her bound to her family and their ancestral worship. She can now go and fulfill what He had me pray over her.
I feel this is the last time I will speak to She Mpongo. I hope not, but Jesus is the Orchestrator of His Kingdom. Jesus qualifies her for the indigenous needs of her region of South Africa. He knows what He’s doing. He’s the King!
