As I like to do, I study in public places and look for opportunities to engage people for the purpose of deliverance, healing, good words, or salvation. On this particular day I look up and notice this young man’s shirt (below). He is with his female friend, waiting for his food so I get up immediately and walk to them. I greet them with a smile and ask him respectfully, “Do you know who this is on your shirt?” He responds happily, “It’s ‘No-Face,’ a character from a movie.” I reply, “This is the demon who sits at the gates of hell.” The delight in his face disappears as he thinks for a moment and says, “I just like the movie.” I ask, “You like the character, but how would you feel if you met this guy in real life?” He says, “I wouldn’t like it.”

It’s obvious to me who this character is. His mouth is both swallowing the souls of two young people and the opening to hell. The eyes all around him represent both the souls of those he’s consumed and the dreadlock type hair style around his head. At the top of the opening of his mouth is both his face/nose/teeth and steps leading to a temple which would contain an alter for ritual sacrifice, the blasphemous opposite of the alter of sacrifice used by the Israelites. This is no movie character. This is a real general in the kingdom of darkness; one who wants to snatch the souls out of young people’s bodies and torture them forever.
I change the trajectory of the conversation at this point and tell him, “This is a real guy and all of us have an appointment to meet him. There’s only one way to get out of that meeting. Do you know what that is?” He tells me “No.” I tell him, “Jesus. Jesus is the only way you and I will not have to meet this guy after we die.” He seems compelled but his food comes up, so I give him a card and tell him, “If you like this kind of far out stuff then you will love the content on my website. Read it, consider what I tell you about Jesus, go to the contact page and contact me so we can talk.”
Will he do it? Who knows, but I did my part in a busy public environment to grab his attention, splash Jesus in his face and set up an opportunity to meet and share the gospel later. Sometimes that all one can do.
